Accredited Mental Health First Aid training, delivered to your team by an endorsed mental health occupational therapist, on site or online.

Why Workplaces Choose This
Your people already care about each other. What a workplace needs is a shared way of responding, so that when someone is struggling, the person who notices has a clear next step, and the team has a common language for it. Mental Health First Aid gives your team that structure. It is evidence based, nationally recognised, and built around real conversations, including how to ask directly about suicide and how to guide someone toward support.

What Your Team Will Learn
The course covers how to recognise the signs of common mental health challenges, including depression, anxiety, substance use, and psychosis, and how to respond with confidence. It also covers suicide risk, self-harm, and crisis situations, with practical frameworks for starting the conversation, staying steady, and connecting someone with the right help. Throughout, there is a focus on supporting others while looking after your own wellbeing, because the people who show up for colleagues and clients are the ones who most need to sustain it.

Delivered by Someone Who Has Worked in the Room
I am an endorsed mental health occupational therapist and accredited MHFA instructor with close to twenty years of clinical and leadership experience, including inpatient and community mental health, and building and leading a healthcare organisation of more than 80 clinical staff. I teach this course the way I have practised it, with real scenarios, honest discussion, and room for the complicated questions your team will bring. I tailor examples to your workplace, whether that is a clinical practice, a school, a disability service, or a corporate team.

"Lauren was extremely knowledgeable and engaging. I really enjoyed the course and learnt a lot of new skills that will be applicable to my role. Very insightful. Lots of real life scenarios to work through."

Course Options
Standard Mental Health First Aid is designed for adults supporting other adults, and suits most workplaces. Youth Mental Health First Aid is designed for people who support young people, and is a strong fit for schools, youth services, and any organisation working with adolescents. Refresher courses keep your trained team current once their accreditation approaches its three year mark.

How It Works
Courses can be delivered at your workplace or online, for groups of 6 to 24 participants. We agree the format, timing, and any tailoring with you in advance, and I handle the course logistics so your team can focus on the learning.

Accreditation
Participants who complete the course receive Mental Health First Aid accreditation, valid for three years. A Refresher course keeps that accreditation current.

A Practical Idea: Your Own Mental Health First Aid Rep
Many workplaces have a physical first aid rep, someone the team knows to go to when something happens. A Mental Health First Aid rep works the same way. Having a trained go to person supports psychological safety, gives colleagues somewhere to turn, and strengthens how your team responds to distress. Many organisations begin by training a small group, particularly people who are drawn to this work or carry a heavier load of complex presentations, and build from there.

Keep the Learning Alive
Training is often where the conversation starts. If your team would like to keep building after the course, there are options including Strong Minds for the stress vulnerability model and conversation strategies, and The Case Room for ongoing group coaching and reflection.
