Free Live Workshop
The Open Hour
A free live workshop for health and disability professionals ready to build real mental health capability.
You care deeply about this work. But caring is not the same as feeling equipped.
You became a health professional because you wanted to make a real difference in people's lives. And you do — every day.
But somewhere along the way, the situations got more complex. The mental health presentations got harder to navigate. The risk got higher. And the conversations you needed to have started to feel like something you were expected to handle but never properly trained for.
You are not alone in that.
Across the health and disability sector, capable and experienced professionals are carrying an enormous amount of clinical and emotional responsibility — often without structured frameworks to guide them through the hardest moments.
This is the gap The Open Hour was built to address.
What is The Open Hour?
The Open Hour is a free, one-hour live online workshop where I walk you through the Mental Health Capability Framework — the same structured approach I have developed across almost two decades of clinical mental health practice, leadership, and education.
This is not a surface-level awareness session. It is not motivational content. And it is not a sales pitch wrapped in a webinar.
The Open Hour is a genuine teaching session where you will learn how to think about mental health capability differently — moving beyond awareness and into practical, structured, evidence-informed ways of working that you can apply immediately in your clinical and professional life.
I will walk you through the three pillars of the Mental Health Capability Framework, show you what changes when you have a clear structure to guide your thinking and your conversations, and introduce you to The Capability Program — a six-month learning experience designed to take this work deeper.
Inside The Open Hour: The Mental Health Capability Framework
The framework is built across three pillars, each designed to address a different layer of what it takes to do this work well and sustainably.
Pillar 1 — The Foundation
Pillar 2 — In the Room
Pillar 3 — Sustainable Practice
The Foundation: This is where we build your clinical base. Understanding common mental health presentations, how risk and vulnerability interact, and what is actually happening when someone is in distress. This pillar gives you the knowledge to read situations with more accuracy and more confidence, so you are not guessing when things escalate.
In the Room: Knowledge alone does not change outcomes. This pillar is about what happens in the real moments — the conversations you need to have, the boundaries you need to hold, the distress you need to sit with and respond to without absorbing it. This is where capability is built: in the room, with real people, in real time.
Sustainable Practice: This pillar is about the systems, strategies, and structures that allow you to do meaningful, complex work over the long term without it costing you everything. It is about professional longevity, not just professional competence.
What Changes When You Have a Framework
Most health and disability professionals are already doing meaningful, complex work. The difference a structured framework makes is not in how much you care — it is in how clearly you can think, respond, and sustain yourself across the hardest parts of the job.
Better client outcomes
When you understand presentations, risk factors, and patterns of distress, your responses become more accurate, confident, and effective.
A stronger career trajectory
Structured mental health capability supports clearer progression into leadership, supervision, and specialist roles.
Work you can sustain
The right frameworks, boundaries, and structures mean you can do the work you love for the long term — and enjoy it
If you're ready to build real mental health capability with a clearer framework for complex work, The Open Hour is a practical place to begin.
